Ana Luiza Dallora Moraes Appointed as Docent in Applied Health Technology

On October 31, 2025, Ana Luiza Dallora Moraes, Assistant Senior Lecturer at Blekinge Institute of Technology (BTH), successfully delivered her trial lecture for appointment as docent (associate professor) in Applied Health Technology.

Title of the lecture:
Artificial Intelligence in Health Research: From Data to Insights

Abstract:
With the emergence of artificial intelligence (AI), health is moving toward a more predictive and data-driven science. By integrating multimodal data, AI systems can help identify early signs of disease and support diagnosis, prevention, and personalized care. Yet, the path from data to insight requires careful consideration. The quality, structure, and interpretation of medical data fundamentally shape what AI can learn and sometimes what it may misinterpret. The lecture explored how AI can deepen our understanding of health and disease across biological and clinical domains while highlighting common pitfalls in interpreting complex data and lessons learned from research practice, public communication, and the broader evidence landscape.
